Creative Writing Undergraduate Honors Thesis

An autumn forest behind a creek of light flowing water and stones.

During my senior year at UMass Amherst, I completed a collection of fiction as my honors thesis. This collection contains an introduction of my journey as a fiction writer, two short stories about two separate brothers, and the first few chapters of a work-in-progress novel based in Antarctica.

I first started writing fiction in high school as a fun past-time, but I tried to take the art seriously when I started college my freshman year at Ithaca College. Over the years my writing style has changed drastically, but one thing has always stayed constant: I always write about relationships.

Friendship. Romance. Enemies. Parents and siblings. I can’t help but write about these dynamics in all my work of fiction. I hope you enjoy reading about these relationships as much as I enjoy writing them.
