For a year and a half I managed Pragma’s Tech Blog to showcase the development and design philosophies behind Pragma Engine—a backend game engine for online multiplayer games. This blog was written for game developers and encompassed casual but professional documentation, case studies, tutorial videos, and unique developer insights on industry standards and practices.

Posts varied from tutorials on simple coding exercises in Pragma Engine to deep dives into how the company built its backend architecture and achieved industry-leading milestones. I first started working on the Tech Blog as an intern, but when I was hired full-time I eventually wrote fifteen articles in total.
These articles required hands-on interviews and draft reviews with developers and fellow writers across the company, as well as the occasional interview directly with customers depending on the article’s content. Using a database of assets provided to me by my team, I collaged and illustrated various images, charts, and diagrams to supplement the articles with useful visual aids.
Additionally, during my first year running the blog, I scripted, recorded, and produced four video tutorials on how to set up Pragma Engine and how to use the engine to create in-game stackable items. See my previous post about it here.
